Give on our New Giving System

In 2018 we switched to a new online giving system: Planning Center Online.

The new giving system is online and fully functional, and very easy to use. We think you will love it! You can give through echeck (preferred), debit, or credit card. And you have multiple ways of accessing online giving: browser, mobile, and even text-to-give. In the giving portal, you can manage your info, giving methods, giving schedules, and view your donation history.

We believe one of the marks of following Jesus is generosity. We are called to bless others in the same way we’ve been blessed.

One of the New Testament authors in the Bible reminds us that God does not want us to give money out of guilt or obligation. In Proverbs 3:9 we are taught to honor the Lord with the “First Fruits” of our labor. When you give to MSTAR you are supporting our ministries and mission partners. This online system enables you to support the church by making a one-time contribution or establishing a recurring contribution.

MSTAR Transactions:

For Online Giving we accept both electronic check and debit card based donations. These are securely processed by Stripe Inc in the Planning Center Online Giving Portal. Your personal banking information is not stored or seen by Planning Center or any member of the Morning Star staff.

CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS FOR 2018!

Finalized Contribution Statements for 2018 will be available no later than January 12, 2019. In the Giving Portal, click “My Profile” on the top banner, scroll down to the “Donation History” section of your profile, select the year and then click “Download.”  A PDF of your statement will begin to download immediately. If you have not yet registered to access the giving portal, you can sign up by clicking here.

Online Giving FAQ

Can I set up recurring donations?

Yes, you can create custom giving schedules and modify them at any time. If you have questions, the church office can help!

Can I make a one-time only payment or donation?

Absolutely!  Just visit our giving portal and proceed with a donation without logging in.

Do I pay additional fees to give online?

Absolutely not! There are no fees to you of any kind for giving online. The church does incur small fees to receive donations, and you have the ability to cover the cost of that fee if you would like to.

Is online giving secure?

Our online giving portal is handled by Stripe Inc, a leader in online security. The portal uses high-level encryption and is safe and secure to use. For more information, see our Giving Security Page.

Can I use a credit or debit card?

Yes, you can use either! In our current giving system all card-based donations have the same processing fee charged to the church. The lowest cost option is to do an electronic check (also called an ACH), where you donate using your routing and checking number instead of a card number.

Can I update the frequency or amount of my donation?

Yes. In the giving portal, scroll down to the Recurring Donations area and click “MANAGE” on the schedule you’d like to update. It’s that easy.

What if I change banks?

You will need to modify your any saved giving schedules with your updated account numbers. For individual gifts, you will simply need to enter your new banking information.

Will my contributions be reflected in my annual giving statement?

Yes, your current year to-date giving is available in the giving portal. For 2017 and previous year giving statements, please contact the church office and a copy can be sent to you.

When will my donation be charged to my bank account?

Check with your financial provider for exact transfer times, but donations begin processing on the day specified, with card-based transactions completing transfer in 1-2 days, and echeck/ACH transactions completing in about a week.  This extended time is due to modern anti-fraud checks.
